Company Timeline
1948 – Mr. Crow establishes Trammell Crow Company (TCC) and builds his first commercial development, a warehouse in the Trinity Industrial District near downtown Dallas.
1959 – Trammell Crow Company develops the 14-story Hartford Insurance Company building, TCC’s first office building, in downtown Dallas.
1968 – TCC establishes its first offices outside of Dallas: Atlanta, Oklahoma City and Houston.
1971 – Forbes names Mr. Crow the largest private real estate operator in the United States.
1984 – TCC ranks as The Best Companies to Work for in America. TCC develops the Trammell Crow Center, the first commercial project in the Dallas Arts District.
1987 – Fortune names Mr. Crow to United States Business Hall of Fame.
1991 – TCC makes shift from a partnership to a corporate structure. The move transforms TCC into a diversified real estate services company.
1997 – TCC goes public on November 25, raising $93 million in its IPO.
2006 – CBRE acquires TCC. TCC brand name lives on in the Development and Investment business as a wholly-owned but independently operated subsidiary of CBRE.
2007 – TCC development starts hit then-record $2.3 B.TCC announces national capital programs with Principal Real Estate Investors and Clarion Partners to develop office and industrial projects throughout the United States.
2009 – TCC wins Green Building of the Year award from NAIOP’s Florida Chapter.
2010 – Two TCC office projects are awarded Build-to-Suit of the Year in NAIOP’s Arizona and Pittsburgh Chapters.
2012 – TCC names #1 Developer and Project Sale of the Year for Hess Tower by the Houston Business Journal and awarded Best Development for Hess Tower by Commercial Property Executive.
2013 – TCC ranked #2 Top Development Firm by Commercial Property Executive and wins Developer of the Year in NAIOP’s North Texas and Colorado Chapters. TCC celebrates 65 years of building value for investors, tenants and the communities in which we live and work.
2014 – TCC’s Chicago Business Unit receives NAIOP Minnesota’s Award of Excellence in the Industrial Bulk category for Midtown Business Center.
2015 – I-215 Logistics Center/Amazon.com was chosen as the E-Commerce Development of the Year by NAIOP’s SoCal Chapter.
2016 – TCC DFW named Developer of the Year by DCEO Magazine. TCC’s SoCal – Los Angeles Business Unit awarded 2016 Builder of the Year by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles.
2017 – TCC awarded NAIOP 2017 Developer of the Year as well as named Commercial Property Executive Magazine’s 2017 Top Developer.
