Adam Weers Named One of WBJ's Top Minority Business Leaders for 2015

WASHINGTON, D.C. February 20, 2015 – Trammell Crow Company announces that Adam Weers, Principal with the Company’s MidAtlantic Business Unit has been named as one of the Washington Business Journal’s Top Minority Leaders for 2015. This honor is presented to established executives and visionaries who have demonstrated entrepreneurial drive, creativity and success.
 
“The Minority Business Leader Awards recognizes the Washington region's top 25 minority business leaders who have demonstrated business success over the past 12 to 18 months,” said Caitlin Burke, special projects editor of the Washington Business Journal. “Nominations are judged based on professional accomplishments, community leadership, philanthropy, as well as awards and milestones.”
 
As a Principal with TCC, Weers is currently overseeing the development of the Shops at Dakota Crossing, a 430,000 square foot shopping center located in Washington, DC with high-profile tenants including Costco, Lowe’s and Marshall’s; as well as the McMillan Healthcare Campus, a 1.1 million square foot multi-phased, mixed-use redevelopment of the former McMillan sand filtration site in Washington, DC. In addition, Adam has helped develop some of the most prominent and lucrative market-rate multi-family housing projects in the MidAtlantic.

In addition to his project work, Adam manages the Company’s Diversity and Inclusion Initiative that works to improve the breadth of perspectives brought to bear on the firm’s business, broadens the makeup of TCC’s personnel and leadership, and institutes long term programs to attract and retain qualified diverse professionals.
 
Weers also plays an active role in the local community, volunteering for organizations such as Food and Friends and Habitat for Humanity. Adam serves on the Boards of both Miriam’s Kitchen and Dance Place. He has also served as a coach and mentor for the Maryland/DC Chapter of NAIOP’s Annual Development Competition – The Capital Challenge for the last five years.
