• Technology companies expanded real estate occupancy along the Front Range by 23% from 2018 to 2020, increasing the total footprint of the industry from 17.4 million sq. ft. to 21.4 million sq. ft.

• Hardware manufacturing companies take up the most space along the Front Range, increasing their space from 6.3 million sq. ft. to 6.9 million sq. ft. in two years. Software companies have the second-largest footprint in the state, occupying 6.4 million sq. ft., up from 5.2 million sq. ft. in 2018.

• The Boulder-Broomfield area is home to the highest concentration of tech companies, with 43%, or about 5.9 million sq. ft., of the area’s occupied office inventory taken by tech firms. In metro Denver overall, 13.1 million sq. ft., equal to about 13% of occupied office space, houses tech companies. 

• Across the Front Range, the number of employees in tech jobs jumped from 88,000 in 2010 to 139,000 in 2019, an increase of 57%.
