  • 640 apartment units
  • 60,000 square feet of ground floor retail
  • 200-room hotel

Timeline

Project Start: September 2019
Project Completion: Q1 2022

Overview

Developed by High Street Residential, Armature Works is a 2.43-acre redevelopment site adjacent to the NoMa-Galludet U. Metro stop in the emerging NoMa neighborhood of the District of Columbia, and is conveniently located between Union Market and H Street, two of the most popular retail and entertainment districts for millennials in the city.

The current concept plan calls for 640 apartment units, 60,000 square feet of ground floor retail, and a 200-room hotel. These components will be woven together by a series of urban open spaces and pocket parks totaling approximately 46,000 square feet. Components of the open space will be a large public plaza that provides a location for a future pedestrian tunnel that will connect directly to the NoMa-Galludet U. Metro stop, and a public plaza along M Street across from the Uline Arena.

Opportunity, Solutions & Outcomes

Armature Works is a mixed-use development in D.C.’s NoMa neighborhood. It will deliver apartments, shopping and dining, a hotel, and public plazas, making Armature Works D.C.’s new center of urban living. Paying homage to the District’s industrial roots while offering easy access to downtown, Armature Works joins the past and the future into a design that brims with energy and potential.

Once completed Armature Works will serve as the hub of residential and retail life in the NoMa neighborhood, while linking NoMa to Union Market and H Street.
