Trammell Crow Company Announces 2022 Principal Promotions for U.S. Business

Trammell Crow Company (TCC), one of the nation’s largest commercial real estate developers, is pleased to announce the following promotions, effective January 1, 2022:
Senior Managing Director
Campbell Smith has been promoted to Senior Managing Director for TCC’s MidAtlantic Business Unit. Campbell has successfully led the MidAtlantic BU, the firm’s largest BU in terms of personnel, for the past three years. Under his leadership, the business has grown in revenue, product type and team members, and the five-year forecast for the business is quite strong, with several large, complicated and best-in-class projects in the pipeline. In 2021, Campbell led the team in expanding into North Carolina, where TCC reestablished its presence after several years by breaking ground on two significant mixed-use and industrial projects this past summer – 400H and Metro 63. Campbell has been with TCC since 2002.
Cathy Thuringer has been promoted to Senior Managing Director for TCC’s Phoenix Business Unit and joined the firm’s Executive Committee, effective January 1. Cathy has led the Phoenix team since 2019 and has transformed the BU into a thriving and profitable business with several projects in the multifamily, industrial and office sectors. Since joining TCC in 1988, Cathy has delivered more than 6 million square feet of office, industrial, multifamily and mixed-use product throughout Arizona. She additionally serves on TCC’s Leadership Council and lends her insight to TCC’s national investment committee as a frequent product-type expert.
Joel Behrens of TCC Dallas-Fort Worth has been promoted to Managing Director. Joel has been with TCC since 2008 and currently leads the BU’s successful High Street Residential business. Throughout his tenure with TCC, Joel has contributed significantly to source, shape and execute risk-mitigated Class A projects. Joel is an excellent developer and thought leader within the multifamily industry, both locally and nationally, as demonstrated by the BU’s collaboration on development projects with TCC Austin, Houston and Newport Beach.
Jeremy Garner of TCC Houston has been promoted to Managing Director. Jeremy has been with TCC for 17 years and he has led the Industrial team for the Houston BU since 2013, delivering a long list of very successful projects that total 5.7 million square feet of principal projects. He’s also built strong relationships with many occupiers, including TCC strategic clients – under Jeremy’s leadership, TCC Houston has developed or co-developed over 4.7 million square feet of fee developments as well.
Brad Maples has been promoted to Managing Director for TCC Austin. In 2021, Brad was promoted to Business Unit leader for TCC’s Austin’s operations and has led the team to strong 2021 financial results and equally strong forecasts. Brad joined TCC in 2005 as a Development Manager and has been responsible for every aspect of the development process, including strategic planning, deal origination, joint venture structuring, equity and debt financing, development execution, leasing activities and project dispositions for both speculative and build-to-suit.
Erik Hagevik of TCC Denver has been named a Principal of the firm. With 26 years of industry experience in Denver, Erik joined TCC in 2018 and has since sourced, capitalized, negotiated and broken ground on several major projects within the Metro Denver area. Erik led the team on the sourcing, capitalization, and groundbreaking of the first phase of Central Park Station, the BU’s first ground-up development for High Street Residential in the Colorado market, as well as final debt and groundbreaking of The Shops and Residences at Olde Town Station. He has additionally played a crucial role in managing the BU’s deal-side team on a variety of industrial, multifamily and life science pursuits.
Matteo Pacifici of TCC Austin has been named a Principal of the firm. Matteo joined TCC in 2016 and during that time has played a major role across all product types within the business unit. Most recently, Matteo established himself as the leader of the Austin Multifamily Team, with primary responsibility for The Grove at Shoal Creek, The Block Yard and River & Rainey. Under Matteo’s leadership, the Austin team has delivered or commenced construction on more than 1,500 residential units with another 2,000 units in the planning and permitting stage.
Chris Rodriguez of the MidAtlantic BU has been promoted to Principal of the firm. Chris joined TCC in 2015 and is focused on growing a robust industrial development business in the MidAtlantic, which includes approximately 10 million square feet of completed or in-process projects over the last five years, and an additional 5 million square feet in its pipeline. Chris has played an integral role in developing some of the BU’s biggest industrial projects – including I-81 Industrial Center, Elkton Commerce Center, MidAtlantic Crossroads, and Corporate Center Drive – and sourcing other major deals, like Manassas Logistics Center.
Adam Voelker, BU Leader for TCC’s Northern California operations, has been named a Principal of the firm. A 14-year industry veteran. Adam joined TCC in 2020 and was named BU Leader in 2021. Over the past year, the Northern California team has grown from having three projects to having 12 that are in-process or pipeline. Of these projects, Adam is leading three and has sourced and successfully capitalized two, putting the team in a strong position to close these deals in the near term.
Executive Vice President
Drew Fredrick of TCC Atlanta has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Development Management. For the past seven years, Drew has led the BU’s development management efforts on over 950 acres of industrial and office development sites. Drew’s efforts have contributed to the development of over 9 million square feet of industrial product and 350,000 square feet of office product in the metro Atlanta area, totaling $700 million in value. Under his leadership, the development management team has helped the BU to grow and perform at a first-class level.
Nancy Moses of TCC Los Angeles has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Development Management. Nancy joined TCC 16 years ago and has delivered more than 1.7 million square feet of development throughout LA, with another 1.2 million square feet currently in planning and production. She is a key leader in TCC LA’s Development Management business, going beyond the management of team members and workloads by assisting with career planning and offering mentorship for the team’s younger professionals, as well as serving as a co-chair for TCC’s Women’s Network.
Tom Nieswander of TCC Portland has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Development Management. In 2022, he will continue with his duties leading Portland’s Development Management team and will also allocate 25% of his time to supporting the Strategic Accounts team. Tom has already made significant contributions to a Strategic Client’s national business and is recognized as a subject matter expert for their flagship industrial projects. His relationship with this client has directly led to new business for the Portland BU, where he manages many of the team’s most complex projects, guiding selection/contracting for general contractors and key consultants.
