Overview
Princeton HealthCare System opened the doors to its new $500+ million replacement hospital in Plainsboro, NJ. The campus plan included a fully integrated medical office building with connection to the hospital in four locations. The medical office building was initially to be built by another developer, but with a lack of progress, Princeton HealthCare System had to identify a new development partner in order to meet a May 2012 deadline.Opportunity, Solutions & Outcomes
The goal to create a Class A medical office building which would not only provide inviting, state of the art, facilities for the Hospital's ambulatory functions such as imaging, ambulatory surgery center and sleep center, but also offer convenient, highly desirable office space to help recruit and retain the Hospital's top physicians. The building had to be completed concurrently with the new replacement hospital, which was already under construction. TCC had to mobilize quickly working with the health system to design a state-of-the-art building to meet the current and future needs of the Hospital. TCC broke ground on the Medical Arts Pavilion on February 3, 2011 and completed the project on time and on budget, despite a force majeure issue which could have resulted in delays and cost overruns. The Medical Arts Pavilion opened concurrently with the new replacement hospital on May 22, 2012.
