SAN ANTONIO, TX – Today officials from CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – Westover Hills and Trammell Crow Company celebrated a groundbreaking for Medical Plaza III, the third free-standing medical office building on the hospital campus.

The 70,000 square foot, $12 million project will offer physicians and other health care providers convenient access to the hospital’s outpatient and inpatient services, further enhancing access to needed health care services in the vibrant Westover Hills community.

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Health Center, the training site for the nationally recognized CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency program, is relocating to the Westover campus due to the conversion of its former City Centre home to Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. The new clinic will occupy the third floor of the new building. The clinic, a NCQA certified patient-centered medical home, will offer primary and coordinated specialty care in one location.

“We are excited to bring the Family Health Center and the Residency Program to CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills, continuing the commitment to providing excellent health care to the community and educating the next generation of Family Medicine physicians. We look forward to a bright future for the residency program and the health center, as together we work to meet the health care needs of Westover Hills residents,” said James Martin, M.D., chief medical officer, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System.

Over the next five years, the population of San Antonio’s Westover Hills area is anticipated to grow by more than 15 percent with nearly 11,000 new households. The CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – Westover Hills campus is located at 11212 State Highway 151, between loops 410 and 1604.

“The Medical Plaza III project at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills is a continuation of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System’s legacy of providing high quality patient care,” said Pat Carrier, President and CEO, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System. “Our collaboration with the Trammell Crow Company (TCC) has helped us create a true comprehensive medical campus with physician offices, anchored by the hospital.”

TCC has partnered with CHRISTUS Santa Rosa for the Medical Office Buildings on the Westover Hills campus.
“We are pleased to be partnering again with CHRISTUS to develop our third medical office building on this growing campus,” said Adam Nims, a principal with TCC’s Austin Business Unit. “Like CHRISTUS Santa Rosa, TCC is committed to providing a Class-A facility that not only integrates with the aesthetic of the campus, but also offers a high quality environment for patients and visitors to enjoy.”

Paul Barker with Endura Advisory Group in San Antonio has been appointed the leasing agent for the building.
