Trammell Crow Company (TCC), a leading commercial real estate developer, has signed a full-building, 755,926-square-foot lease with Statesville-based Momentec Brands at Metro 63 in Kannapolis, North Carolina. The new lease will represent a total consolidation of the company’s distribution network, which was previously spread across six buildings in six states ranging from Georgia to Ohio. Momentec Brands, the result of a merger between Augusta Sportswear Brands and Founder Sport Group, both industry-leading designers, manufacturers, and marketers of customizable uniforms, training apparel, and fanwear, plans to be fully operational at Metro 63 in the first half of 2026. The new facility, given the name “The Momentec Customer Success Center”, will house 700 employees once fully operational.
“We can’t wait to move in and have all the Momentec Apparel brands under one roof. It’s going to enable us to serve our customers with greater speed and efficiency, and that’s what we’re focused on – making sure our customers win in the marketplace,” said John Anton, Momentec Brands CEO.
Located at 5700 Royce St., Metro 63 was delivered in late 2022 and is situated on a 94-acre site in the North Interstate 85 corridor at exit 63 in Kannapolis. The cross-dock facility, which features state-of-the-art specifications including 40-foot clear heights, will provide Momentec Brands with direct access to the Charlotte metro area and to more than 36 million people within 300 miles.
“Our speculative investment thesis for Metro 63 was centered around the emergence of Charlotte’s bulk distribution network along the I-85 corridor, and market expansion to the north beyond Cabarrus County. Although being patient can be very difficult, Momentec Brands’ distribution center consolidation initiative proved to be the perfect opportunity for our project, and we are thrilled to provide them this unique opportunity,” said Ben Schon, Senior Vice President with TCC in Charlotte.
Momentec Brands, owned by Platinum Equity, is a portfolio of complementary brands and suppliers of team uniforms, off-field performance wear, and fan apparel for the youth and recreational sports markets. Platinum acquired Augusta Sportswear Brands and, later, Founder Sport Group. Following the merger of the two organizations, the combined companies rebranded to Momentec Brands with a mission of “outfitting moments that matter.”
Matt Treble, Fermin Deoca, and Drew Coholan with Cushman & Wakefield represented TCC in the deal. Bob Rosenthal and Grant Miller with Colliers International represented Momentec Brands.
