Press Coffee, Cocktails & Crepes To Open Third Location at 400H Mixed-Use Tower in Downtown Raleigh
Café will Occupy 5,000 Square Feet of Ground-Floor Retail Space when it Opens in Winter 2023
May 1, 2023
Trammell Crow Company (TCC), a global real estate developer, announced it has signed its first retail tenant at 400H, a 365,000-square-foot mixed-use development in Raleigh, North Carolina that is being developed in partnership with High Street Residential, AECOM-Canyon Partners and HM Partners. The European inspired coffee house Press Coffee, Cocktails & Crepes will open its third location at the tower, serving high-quality coffee and cocktail beverages, along with a rotating menu of food offerings. Press is planned to open this coming winter.
“Press originated from our love of downtowns and the desire to see more vibrant and welcoming places for people to gather. As we looked to expand, downtown Raleigh was an obvious choice for a new location and 400H perfectly aligned with our brand,” said Jason Cox, co-owner of Press with partner Brett DeVries. “The 400H team had a clear vision not just to develop a beautiful building, but to engage in genuine placemaking. They are focused on bringing high-quality independent concepts to the neighborhood and creating a true retail amenity for 400H tenants and residents. Being part of the re-imagining of Hillsborough Street and the creation of a walkable, dynamic experience that connects The Warehouse and Glenwood South Districts is an exciting opportunity.
Press will occupy a 4,873-square-foot ground-floor space at 400H. The 20-story tower, which is slated to officially open this summer, includes 150,000 square feet of Class A office space, 242 luxury residential units (developed by TCC’s residential subsidiary, High Street Residential), and 16,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, which is being curated and leased by John Koonce at York Properties.
“We are thrilled that Press will be opening at 400H this year, a building that we believe will offer a location of prominence and quality to independent and creative retailers that are looking for an impactful retail destination in Raleigh,” said Woody Coley, Senior Vice President with TCC. “The Warehouse and Glenwood South districts are Raleigh’s most vibrant entertainment districts. Press selected the Hillsborough/West Street corner, which we believe will come to define ‘Main and Main’ of Downtown Raleigh’s nucleus for future growth.”
Press is a European-inspired coffeehouse offering a variety of lovingly prepared, high-quality beverages served alongside a changing breakfast and lunch menu focused on locally sourced ingredients. After revitalizing Downtown Graham with its opening in 2016, Press opened a second location in Downtown Durham’s American Tobacco in 2021 with immediate success. Press was named Best New Restaurant in Indy Week, Durham Magazine, and Yelp and was chosen an ideal brunch location in Durham by Southern Living Magazine. The new location will offer generous indoor and outdoor seating, daily barista service, fresh crepes and other daily menu offerings, and an active bar.
