TCC Announces 2023 Leadership Promotions for U.S. Business

Trammell Crow Company (TCC), a global commercial real estate development firm, is pleased to announce the following promotions, effective January 1, 2023:

Senior Managing Director
Greg Ames has been promoted to Senior Managing Director. Greg was promoted to lead TCC’s Los Angeles operations in 2020 after 16 years with the business. Under Greg’s leadership, the Los Angeles team has grown by nearly 40% and the office has continued executing several developments that are reshaping and reinvigorating communities across LA. Greg and his team are currently overseeing projects that include District NoHo, a 2.2M-SF mixed-use community being developed in a P3 partnership with LA County Metropolitan Transit Authority; the Center at Needham Ranch, a 1.9M-SF business park; and Vivo on Harbor, a 137-unit multifamily community in San Pedro. Greg is a recognized leader across the business, serving on TCC’s Leadership Council and is a respected champion of diversity in the industry.

Andrew Mele has been promoted to Senior Managing Director. Andrew joined TCC in 2005 leads TCC’s Northeast Metro operations, having been promoted to the role in 2021. Over the past seven years, he led a market-leading industrial team that developed over 17.8M SF of projects. The team delivered several notable projects in 2022, including Innovation Park and the Lehigh Valley Trade Center, and also broke ground on the Arsenal Trade Center in New Jersey. Andrew has also grown TCC’s multifamily business in the region, with the delivery of Glasshouse in Pittsburgh and Matson Mill near Philadelphia. He is active in the region’s many different markets, speaking and moderating panels from Philadelphia up to New York City, gaining recognition as a top leader and developer in the Northeast.

Managing Director
Davis Griffin has been promoted to Managing Director. Davis joined TCC in 2002, working with the Higher Education Services Group. In 2006, she shifted her focus to healthcare development and physician leasing as part of the Northeast Metro office, ultimately relocating to Houston in 2012 to lead TCC’s Healthcare and Life Science development team. In her current role, Davis is working to grow TCC’s strategic accounts business by identifying new partnership opportunities, expanding existing account relationships, and serving as a liaison between TCC’s local offices and strategic account clients. Davis serves as the Vice Chair of TCC’s Leadership Council and is the Co-Chair of TCC’s Professional Women’s Network, having overseen substantial growth in the chapter significantly in recent years, with a goal of supporting and empowering TCC’s female professionals.

Brandon Houston of TCC Atlanta has been promoted to Managing Director. Brandon joined TCC in 2012 in Houston and, in January 2022, took over the role of BU Leader for TCC Atlanta, an office he joined five years prior. Brandon has helped generate more than 2.2M-SF million square feet of office development for the firm, including Twelve24, a 348,000-SF office tower in Dunwoody. In 2022, his team broke ground on the first phase of Science Square, a multi-phase mixed-use community on the Georgia Tech campus that will feature a 364,740-SF Class A lab/office tower, as well as High Street Residential’s first multifamily project in the city. Brandon is a well-respected leader in Atlanta, lending his knowledge to several publications and industry events.

Principal
Alan Cantlin of TCC Seattle has been named a Principal of the firm. Alan joined TCC in 2020 to source and execute new projects in the Pacific Northwest. Having more than two decades of experience in the Seattle real estate industry, Alan completed for TCC projects including Boren Lofts, a 136,000-SF life science building that delivered in 2021. He has laid the groundwork for 1916 Boren, a 283,000-SF life science development that broke ground in November 2022 with 124,000 SF pre-leased to Seattle Children’s Research Institute. Alan has also contributed to the office’s growing multifamily pipeline and is nearing the delivery of Corner 63, a 139-unit transit-oriented community in Seattle’s Roosevelt neighborhood.

Yewande Fapohunda of TCC Houston has been named a Principal of the firm. Yewande joined the team in 2019 as Houston’s multifamily leader. She collaborated on efforts to deliver High Street Residential’s Parkside Residences in Downtown Houston, a 43-story luxury residential tower, and simultaneously led the team to start construction on a suburban project in the Kingwood community. Yewande has helped to mentor the next generation of multifamily leaders on her team. She serves on TCC’s Leadership Council, is a member of ULI’s Multifamily Council, and also is Co-Chair of TCC’s DEI Steering Committee, working to advance TCC’s DEI initiatives and partnerships across the U.S.

George Farish of TCC Houston has been named a Principal of the firm. George joined TCC in 2012 and is responsible for the sourcing, planning, and execution of development and investment activities, with a primary focus on the industrial sector. Since joining TCC, George has provided leadership across a broad range of challenges and solutions for multiple large-scale development projects, including build-to-suit projects for larger corporate users. George has carved out a niche as one of TCC Houston’s go-to industrial experts for rail-served buildings, and is well-respected by partners, clients, brokers, and other project parties for his thorough and reliable work.

Elisha Long of TCC Boston has been named a Principal of the firm. Elisha joined TCC in 2019 to focus on sourcing all development and acquisition projects in the region, including sourcing new principal and fee opportunities and financial structuring across a multi-product business in the office, multifamily, life sciences and industrial sectors. In December, Elisha was part of the team that broke ground on 50 Robert Milligan Parkway, a 323,750-SF speculative industrial development in New Hampshire. He additionally helped execute development on 440 Bedford, a 310,000-SF life sciences building in Boston that will be complete in 2024.

Katherine Lynch of TCC Atlanta has been named a Principal of the firm. Katherine joined TCC in 2019 after spending 10 years with CBRE as an office leasing agent for institutional owners. At TCC, Katherine has worked on marquee projects, including Twelve24, a 348,000-SF transit-oriented office building in Atlanta’s Central Perimeter. She led the development team that won a bid to be named the Master Developer for Georgia Tech’s Science Square development, a multi-phase mixed-use and life sciences community on the Georgia Tech campus that, as part of Phase I, will include a 364,740-SF Class A lab/office tower, as well as High Street Residential’s first multifamily project in the city.

Cullen Mahoney of TCC Phoenix has been named a Principal of the firm. Cullen led the development team for Tolleson Logistics Center, a 330,000-SF industrial project in Tolleson that was delivered on time and on-budget, which led to two more successful industrial developments in the marker, as well as a nearly 1M-SF development opportunity in Goodyear. Cullen has additionally developed a skillset in the office sector, working on upwards of 400,000 SF worth of development, including Mach One Phases I & II and his latest project, Axis Raintree, a speculative office building in the North Scottsdale submarket that delivered in 2021.

Rich McPhillips of TCC MidAtlantic has been named a Principal of the firm. Rich joined TCC in 2016 and has contributed significantly to the successful execution of the office’s volume of in-process projects. Rich’s accomplishments include sourcing projects such as 631P and the Terrace and overseeing the development of the 353-unit Rowan multifamily project. He has contributed to the success of other key projects in the region, including the 830,000-SF mixed-use Central Armature Works project and 400H, a mixed-use tower in Raleigh, North Carolina. Rich has developed strong relationships with capital partners and has set forth a clear strategy for the growth of the multifamily business in the region.

Nancy Moses of TCC Los Angeles has been named a Principal of the firm. Nancy joined TCC 17 years ago and earned a promotion last year to Executive Vice President, a reflection of her expertise in Development Management and her track record of success managing the execution side of the business. Over the course of her TCC career, she has delivered more than 2M SF of development throughout LA – including Vermont Corridor and the MLK Community Hospital – with an additional 1.1M SF currently in the pipeline. She is a respected leader across TCC, supporting colleagues in career development and mentorship. Nancy serves on TCC’s Leadership Council and is a Co-Chair of TCC’s Professional Women’s Network.

Ryan Norris of TCC Phoenix has been named a Principal of the firm. Ryan joined TCC in 2013 and has since created a niche for himself as an expert in industrial development. Ryan led the team that delivered the multi-phase Park Aldea, including the recently completed Phase II, which includes 570,600 SF of Class A in-fill logistics space. Ryan has also led the development efforts for the 415,000-SF Gilbert Gateway Commerce Park, the 600,000-SF Park Lucero East fee development, the recently completed 516,000-SF Elliot Gateway project. In addition to the projects that Ryan has led, he has helped to manage more than 1.5M SF of industrial development for TCC during his tenure.

Brian Pianca of TCC Northern California has been named a Principal of the firm. Brian joined TCC in 2020 to lead the market’s multifamily efforts for High Street Residential. Brian brought with him more than a decade and a half of experience working in Northern California’s commercial real estate industry, having delivered $1.2 billion worth of development across 2,500 residential units in the region. Brian has played a key role in laying the groundwork for the office’s pipeline of multifamily projects, including High Street Residential’s first multifamily development in the region.

Jared Riemer of TCC Newport Beach has been named a Principal of the firm. Jared joined TCC in 2021 to focus on sourcing and executing new industrial development and investment opportunities, as well as leading leasing efforts throughout the Inland Empire, San Diego and Las Vegas market areas. Jared has helped secure 5.6M SF of leases, including pre-leases on 4.59M SF of speculative construction. He is currently leading development at the Golden Triangle Logistics Center, a 134.7-acre industrial park in North Las Vegas, which will include more than 2M SF of industrial space at full-build out.

Sam Schaefer has been named a Principal of the firm. Sam joined TCC in 2021 to lead the firm’s Boston Operations. Over the past year, Sam has recruited a team to support a multi-product business in the office, multifamily, life sciences and industrial sectors. Under his leadership, the officed has commenced its first development projects since re-opening 3 years ago, including 440 Bedford, a 310,000-SF life science building that will deliver in 2024, and 50 Robert Milligan Parkway, a 323,750-SF speculative industrial development in southern New Hampshire. Sam currently serves on TCC’s Leadership Council.

Damin Tarlow of TCC Portland has been named a Principal of the firm. Damin joined TCC in 2017 and has worked across a variety of product types in Greater Portland. He has overseen the development and lease up of High Street Residential’s Mercato Grove community in Lake Oswego, Oregon, which includes 49,000 SF of destination retail and 206 thoughtfully designed apartments. Throughout his nearly three-decade career in real estate, Damin has worked to develop more than 400,000 SF of office space, 100+ acres of industrial development, more than 100,000 SF of retail, and in excess of 2,200 residential units in multiple markets across the U.S.

Alex Valente of TCC Los Angeles has been named a Principal of the firm. Alex joined TCC in 2013 and quickly became the team’s multifamily expert. Alex has worked on projects for High Street Residential including Hollywood & Gower, a 200-unit project in Hollywood; LA Plaza Village, a 355-unit mixed-use community in Chinatown; Llewellyn, a 318-unit building, also in Chinatown; and the team’s latest project, Vivo on Harbor, a 137-unit waterfront community in LA’s San Pedro neighborhood. Alex takes on an active role in the communities where he and his team develop, ensuring that HSR is viewed as a partner and an ally to local businesses and organizations.

Executive Vice President
Barry Henry of TCC Northeast Metro has been promoted to Executive Vice President. Barry joined TCC in 2000 and currently has oversight of many aspects of the BU’s major development projects, including everything from site evaluations and due diligence, budgeting, securing entitlements, contractor selection and project management. Over the course of his 23-year career with TCC, Barry has delivered many successful projects across a variety of product types. In 2022, Barry oversaw the construction and delivery of Matson Mill, a 280-unit multifamily project in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.

Director of Portfolio Management
Gary Mann has been promoted to Director of Portfolio Management for TCC. In this new role, Gary’s responsibilities will include leading the administration of the TCC Investment Committees, leading the firm’s portfolio management activities, and playing a key role in facilitating TCC’s risk management functions. He currently serves on TCC’s Leadership Council. Gary joined TCC in 2008 and has performed several functions at the local and National levels, including a variety of asset management, portfolio management, and risk management roles. Prior to his 14-year career with TCC, Gary built an extensive track record in a variety of asset management and development roles.
